Suiattle River
From Boundary Bridge to the Sauk River, Class I - II
15 miles - 6 hours, July - August
Easy going and a pleasant family expedition, this trip is not strenuous, and is truly enchanting with just a taste of whitewater. It originates from the melting ice of Glacier Peak and swirls through lush green forests as it floats gently to the Sauk River. This calm river ride gives you plenty of time to take in the spectacular scenery. The isolated forest makes the Suiattle a special trip for those who want their whitewater with only a little splash.

Suiattle River Rendezvous Instructions
Where to Meet:
Your guides will meet you at the junction of State HWY 530 and the Suiattle River Road. To reach this site, take I-5 to exit #208. (the Arlington-Darrington exit) Follow HWY 530 for 32 miles east to Darrington; then continue six and a half miles north (toward the North Cascades HWY #20) The junction with the Suiattle River Road is 75 yards beyond the bridge over Sauk River. We will be waiting for you at the parking lot area at this junction with our bus or van to transport you to our launch site. Use a road map and allow two hours driving time from Seattle's exit #170. We’ll have your wetsuit/booties waiting for you from our “rolling rental shop” (no presizing needed!) so just show up with a swimsuit or T-shirt/running shorts (something that can get wet) under your street clothes and we’ll take care of you from there when you get signed in.
Lunch:
We provide everything you could possibly want for lunch on the river whether carnivore of vegetarian. Our caterer prepares a scrumptious and varied array of food including BBQ’d meats, burgers, dogs or veggie burgers, fresh vegetables and dip, melons and fruits, breads, chips/salsa, and water or lemonade to drink. No alcohol is served. If you have special dietary needs just let us know and we'll be happy to try to accommodate you. The morning trip meets at 9am, goes rafting and finishes with the BBQ afterwards - and for the 1pm trip come hungry at 1pm for the BBQ then rafting later in the heat of the day.
